Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and SETI Consortium Bring Together Energy Efficiency Technology Providers and Building Owners to Accelerate Green Building Investments

Jakarta, 15 July 2026 — The Directorate General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR), together with the Sustainable Energy Transition in Indonesia (SETI) project and Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL), convened the Business Matchmaking Forum for Energy Efficiency Technology Providers and Building Owners in Central Jakarta. The forum brought together representatives from government ministries and agencies, public and private building owners and managers, energy efficiency technology providers, financial institutions, energy service companies (ESCOs), industry associations, and development partners.
The forum was organized to connect the practical needs of building owners with energy efficiency solutions currently available in the market, while also creating opportunities for networking and business matchmaking to foster future partnerships. In his opening remarks, Eko Sudarmawan, Coordinator for Technical Guidance and Cooperation at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, highlighted the government's ongoing efforts to strengthen the implementation of energy conservation in the building sector.
"The government continues to strengthen the implementation of energy conservation through various policies, including Government Regulation No. 33 of 2023, which provides a strong foundation for implementing energy management, including in the building sector," said Eko, delivering remarks on behalf of Gigih Udi Atmo, Director of Energy Conservation at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
Echoing this message, Johannes Anhorn, Lead Industry Decarbonisation at GIZ Energy Programme Indonesia/ASEAN, emphasized that the forum is expected to serve as a catalyst for new partnerships and investment opportunities in the building energy efficiency sector.
"The technical solutions already exist, and the regulatory framework is in place. What remains to be addressed is how these solutions can be implemented effectively, particularly from an investment perspective," he said.
Throughout the discussion sessions, panelists explored topics including energy conservation and green building regulations; building automation systems and energy-efficient lighting technologies; as well as HVAC, façade technologies, and building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV). The forum featured leading industry players such as Azbil Berca Indonesia, Schneider Indonesia, Signify Indonesia, Daikin Air Conditioning Indonesia, and Asahimas Indonesia AGC, alongside firsthand experiences shared by building owners and managers, including Danantara Asset Management and Pakuwon Group.
In addition to the panel discussions and presentations, the forum provided exhibition space for Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) to showcase their energy efficiency technologies and solutions directly to participants. Several companies also presented their products and services in dedicated pitching sessions, facilitating direct interaction between technology providers, prospective building owner partners, and financial institutions.

The Sustainable Energy Transition in Indonesia (SETI) project is funded by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN) of the Government of Germany, in cooperation with the Directorate General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) of Indonesia's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR). The project is implemented by a consortium consisting of GIZ, IESR, WRI Indonesia, Yayasan Indonesia CERAH, the Fraunhofer Institute, and LPEM FEB Universitas Indonesia. SETI focuses on advancing renewable energy and energy conservation through two main thematic areas: industrial decarbonisation and building decarbonisation.
