Agriculture, viticulture and horticulture internships in the USA

Applications still being accepted

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH organises internships in the USA on behalf of Germany’s Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ). The programme is geared towards young professionals and students with a bachelor's or master's degree in agriculture, viticulture or horticulture. In cooperation with Ohio State University and the University of Minnesota, GIZ is offering young professionals the chance to take part in 4 to 12-month internships in agricultural enterprises where they can expand their specialist knowledge, improve their language skills and experience the American way of life.

Applications are still being accepted. Candidates must be aged 26 or younger and be proficient in English. Please submit your application at least three months prior to your planned departure for the USA. Internships are organised by the universities and generally paid for by the respective enterprises. Successful candidates can apply for a BMFSFJ grant to cover their travel expenses.
