Context:
Technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in Jordan is separated across various institutions. There is insufficient cooperation between TVET providers and private companies. Furthermore, digitalisation is not adequately embedded in teaching and learning. This is due to inadequate technical equipment and a lack of digital literacy among TVET staff. This hampers the use of modern teaching methods and reduces the employability of trainees.
Jordan’s Ministry of Education currently lacks the necessary capacity to implement digital TVET in an effective, inclusive and labour market-driven manner.
Objective:
Those responsible for Jordan’s TVET system use inclusive, labour market-driven digital methods.
Approach:
The project supports the implementation of digital methods in TVET and fosters digital literacy among teaching and management staff. This is achieved through three key measures:
1. Uniform procedures and standards are being developed for digital TVET to improve the quality and use of digital methods.
2. Teaching and management staff are receiving training on inclusive, gender-equitable digital methods; this boosts the quality of TVET opportunities and the employability of trainees.
3. Labour market-driven digital teaching and learning opportunities are being developed for disadvantaged groups to improve their access to education and equal opportunities.
