GIZ Indonesia & ASEAN Launches Annual Report 2025, Celebrating Partnerships

GIZ Indonesia & ASEAN has launched its Annual Report 2025, highlighting the results of international cooperation with Indonesia and ASEAN across energy transition, climate and nature, urban development, and regional cooperation. 

This year's report is released during a milestone period, commemorating 50 years of GIZ’s partnership with Indonesia and approaching 10 years of the ASEAN–Germany Development Partnership. These anniversaries underscore the enduring value of long-term collaboration in addressing complex development challenges and creating sustainable impact. 

The report illustrates how partnerships with governments, regional institutions, businesses, academia, civil society organisations, and local communities are turning policy commitments into tangible results. 

Among the highlights featured in the report are:

• Support for Indonesia's energy transition through sustainable energy financing, industry decarbonisation, workforce development, and renewable energy solutions for island communities.
• Efforts to strengthen biodiversity conservation, sustainable agriculture, forestry, and marine ecosystem management in one of the world's most biodiverse countries. 
• Advancing sustainable urban development through green infrastructure, circular economy initiatives, and low-carbon mobility solutions. 
• Expanding ASEAN–Germany cooperation in climate resilience, sustainable economic development, circular economy, regional security, and capacity development. 

The report also highlights stories from communities and individuals whose lives have benefited from these partnerships—from renewable energy solutions supporting coastal livelihoods to sustainable agriculture initiatives strengthening local economies.Looking ahead, GIZ Indonesia & ASEAN remains committed to working with partners across Indonesia and ASEAN to develop innovative, inclusive, and locally driven solutions that support sustainable development and regional resilience.
