Head of Component Reintegration Support for Returnees
Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Ukraine is seeking a qualified professional for the project “Reintegration Support for Returnees” to fill the position of the Head of Component Reintegration Support for Returnees (full-time, Kyiv), (internal SAP code: Programme Component Manager)
The program to promote local structures supporting voluntary return and reintegration improves the organizational and technical capacities of local structures relevant to reintegration in selected regions and communities of Ukraine. In addition to developing and implementing extensive capacity development measures for various actor groups involved in reintegration in selected communities, the project will promote horizontal, nationwide exchange of experiences and information provision in an international context. For this purpose, GIZ is currently preparing a project proposal for the European Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF).
Key responsibilities:
- Substitution of the Project Director, at request and within the delegated authority
- Representation of the Project Director at internal and external events, at request
- Technical and administrative responsibility for the Project
- Leadership of the national team (consisting of 13 members)
- Ensuring the procedural and regulatory compliance of the project implementation.
- Support for operations planning
- On-site planning and management of consulting and support services for project partners.
- Support for budget planning and expenditure monitoring of the project.
- Support for regular reporting and presentation of project results to donors and stakeholders.
- Identification and management of risks as well as implementation of measures to mitigate risks.
Required qualifications, professional experience and personal competences:
- Master’s degree in economics, social sciences or equivalent qualification preferably with a focus on project management, education and employment
- Several years of work experience with GIZ in Ukraine.
- At least 7 years of work experience in international project management and consulting
- Relevant experience in project management
- Good expertise in the field of migration and displacement
- Analytical thinking, ability to present complex issues concisely, and deliver high-quality work even under tight deadlines.
- Teamwork, social and intercultural competence, organizational skills, strong communication abilities, high political sensitivity, and ability to collaborate and network at national and international levels.
- Business fluent in Ukrainian and English (verbal and written); command of German would be an advantage.
- Readiness for business travels in Ukraine and abroad.

Employment conditions:
Full-time position with 40-hours working week. Place of assignment is Kyiv. Starting as soon as possible. The contract duration will be 12 months with the possibility of prolongation.
