Context
A fundamental transformation of the world’s energy systems is necessary if climate change is to be stopped. For this reason, the global energy transition has become one of the most important fields of action in foreign policy and diplomacy, and one that is determined very much by political discourse in this sector. As an established pioneer in this area, Germany has an important role to play.
Objective
The energy transition is a greater priority in public debate in target countries. International knowledge transfer and dialogue have been stepped up and the energy transition has been embedded in the international agenda.
