Approach
The project supports the Egyptian Government with advisory services and training measures that take greater account of the interests and needs of young people – especially young women and young persons with disabilities.
In addition, the project promotes creative schemes aimed at the young population and encourages them to take an active role in society. At the same time, young people are sensitised to issues in the field of equal opportunities and social participation, including gender equality, inclusion of persons with disabilities, human rights and population dynamics. The project also implements nationwide media campaigns and local information events on these topics.
In addition to these measures, the project supports selected non-governmental organisations and youth initiatives in implementing local projects through an application-based fund – both financially and with training in project management and other topics. The fund is intended to expand cooperation between governmental and non-governmental institutions.
In addition, the project works together with the ‘Support for e-government and innovation in public administration’ project to improve access to the labour market and public services for persons with disabilities using digital technologies.
The project is co-financed by the European Union.
