Context:
To sell their goods abroad, African businesses need good, competitive products. They must therefore meet the legal provisions and requirements of their customers, who often require certifications. If companies are to produce high-quality products, they also need information on what potential buyers expect and how they ensure quality. They can thus gear their production towards exports.
Objective:
The products of businesses in Benin, Kenya, Togo, Rwanda and Uganda can be sold more easily abroad.
Approach:
The project advises African businesses on how to produce food, textiles and furniture products, for example, with a consistently high level of quality to meet the requirements of customer enterprises from Europe and other African countries. With local chambers of commerce, associations and state institutions, it trains companies in implementing management systems to control quality. The project also advises on identifying new customer enterprises, meeting their quality requirements and obtaining the necessary certificates.
