GIZ hands over new digital solution for managing temporary and seasonal employment in North Macedonia

GIZ has officially handed over a new digital software solution for managing temporary and seasonal employment to the Employment Service Agency of North Macedonia.

The system, developed in line with the operational needs of the Agency, has now been fully integrated into its existing information system. It is designed to support more efficient, transparent and fully digital management of temporary and seasonal work engagements across the country.

The new solution aims to streamline processes for employers, workers and institutions by improving registration and administrative procedures. It also strengthens interoperability and data exchange through integration with relevant national systems and services, contributing to a more connected and efficient public employment infrastructure.

The intervention represents an important step forward in ongoing efforts to advance digitalisation in public services. Beyond administrative efficiency, the system is also expected to improve conditions for informally engaged workers by enabling their inclusion in the formal system and ensuring access to social contributions and protection mechanisms.

This development is part of broader cooperation supported by Germany through GIZ, which continues to assist national institutions in aligning with the legal framework and improving the practical implementation of labour-related regulations. Cooperation with the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund of North Macedonia (PIOM) and other relevant institutions remains ongoing, with a focus on strengthening institutional capacity and ensuring sustainable implementation of reforms.

The handover marks another milestone in cooperation between GIZ and the Employment Service Agency of North Macedonia, reflecting continued efforts to modernise employment services and support inclusive labour market development.
