How can the international community approach the quest for financing the UN´s 2030 sustainable development goals (SDGs)? This question and different approaches and experiences were in the centre of a discussion, organised by the Brussels based think tank Friends of Europe beginning of February.

The Capacity4Change (C4C) event focused on joint actions against deforestation and forest degradation towards sustainable and deforestation free agricultural supply chains. The exchange was jointly organised with Conservation International (CI).

Today, the Friends of Europe published a publication on "Agenda 2030 & Public Private Partnership". Three of our colleagues contributed with an article named "Cooperating with the private sector is key to a sustainable future".

GIZ´s End of the Year Event took the around 100 guests on a journey to countries such as Bolivia and Peru and back to Brussels bringing along insights into Alternative Development and food for thoughts. Performances and a photo exhibition guided the way.

The latest Capacity4Change (C4C) event focused on partnerships with the private sector to promote employment - especially for women - in the MENA region. GIZ and the event partners provided insights and examples of their initiatives.

How to empower women in the off-grid energy business? This question was raised and discussed in the latest Capacity4Change (C4C) event.

Ath this year´s EuroLat assembly, the programme ProPaz gave insights into the peace process in Colombia and visualized how technical cooperation can contribute.

End of June, GIZ hosted the exihibiton ‘Digital Innovation Made in Africa’ and its annual summer reception.

Protect, Empower, Invest – this year‘s European Development Days (EDD) in Brussels focused on gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls. As in previous years, GIZ participated in discussion panels and had stands in the Global Village.
