Cooperatives at the Heart of Climate-Resilient Coffee Farming In Maragusan Davao de Oro

Coffee farmers in Maragusan, Davao de Oro, took a big step toward climate resilience with the completion of a Climate Smart Agriculture Training of Trainers last September 4–5, 2025. The two-day activity was made possible through the support of the Model Cooperative Network (MCN) and the GIZ SPADe Programme, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Union (EU).

Tales from the Triangle Highlights the Importance of Regional Coordination in Marine Conservation

The inaugural session of Tales from the Triangle: A Talanoa Series on Marine Conservation was held on July 30, 2025, convening over 70 participants from government agencies, non-government organizations, civil society, academia, and development partners across the Coral Triangle. Supported by the German Federal Government via the International Climate Initiative (IKI), through the Solutions for Marine and Coastal Resilience (SOMACORE) in the Coral Triangle Programme, the webinar series fosters inclusive, transboundary dialogue grounded in the Pacific concept of talanoa—a process of open, respectful, and participatory exchange.

From Plans to Action: TRANSCEND’s First National Technical Working Group Conference to Advance Climate and Biodiversity Goals

The Transformative Actions for Climate and Ecological Protection and Development (TRANSCEND) Project held its very first National Technical Working Group (TWG) Conference on August 28–29, 2025, in Quezon City. The conference aimed to establish the different TWGs and strengthen linkages among them. Building on the convergence workshop held earlier this year, convening and mobilizing the TWGs is seen as a crucial step to kickstart the landscape-level implementation of the TRANSCEND Project.
